FOTD #4.

Hia Lovelies!!

I'm starting to feel like Face of the Day posts seem to always occur on a Monday haha!! I apologise for the missing post on Friday however if you've watched my vlog which I uploaded yesterday you will know why that didn't happen. If you haven't seen it then here's the link!!

Okay so this is the make up look I wore for the meal that we went out for on Saturday. This was for my Nan's 80th birthday! I decided to stick to some of my old favourite products rather than newer products that I am currently testing and trying out. I thought doing it this way was easier as I have my favourite products when it comes to wearing make up for an occasion. When I am going out and I want my make up to last all day I normally find myself reaching for my Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse. I love this foundation it's so long lasting and I love the finish it leaves on my skin. I also decided to delve into my many palettes but more importantly one of my absolute favourites that being the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.

Products used:

Face;
Foundation: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Shade '010 Ivory'
Concealer: ELF Correcting Tone Concealer in 'Ivory'
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in '001 Transparant'
Bronzer: Bourjois Bronzer in '52'
Blush: ELF Studio Powder Blush in 'Pink Passion'

Brows:
ELF Studio Eyebrow kit in 'Ash'
Natural Collection Single Eyeshadow in 'Milk Chocolate'
ELF Wet Gloss Lash and Brow gel

Eyes:
Eyeshadows all taken from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Shadows used;
'Verve' all over the lid. 'Tease' blended into the crease.
'Busted' used in the outter corner and blended slightly into the crease to add more definition.
'Foxy' used as a brow highlight.
Eyeliner: L'oreal Super Liner in 'Black'
Rimmel Scandal Eyes 24hr Eye Kohl in 'Taupe' (lash line)
Rimmel Scandal Eyes 24hr Eye Kohl in 'Nude' (waterline)
Mascara: Maybelline One By One Mascara in 'Black'
Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt in 'Black'

Lips:
The Body Shop Lip Balm in 'Strawberry'
Topshop Lipstick in 'Macaroon'

I used to love wearing 'Verve, Tease and Busted' as my everyday eye look as I used to think it was good for everyday. I also found for less of a defined look then you can just not used the Busted shade. I've been also really loving 'Macaroon' lately and been wearing it everyday.

First Impressions: Morganville.

Hiaa Loveliess!!
I'm totally obsessed with Vampire books. Ever since I read the Twilight Saga I've found a new love for them. I used to feel that A lot of the vampire novels came out just because of the Twilight Saga. However I decided to put some of these feelings aside and actually have a look and see what's out there. As you may already know I'm completly addicted to the House of Night series. I shall be my thoughts and opinions on that series soon but considering there are 10 books currently in that series that shall be a long blog post!!

Morganville is nothing like Twilight or House of Night. For me it's been hard to get used to the concepts in this series. I'm only the second one at the moment which is 'The Dead Girls Dance'. Within the first chapter of the first book 'Glass Houses' there is violence. This sets the tone for the whole book. The series itself focuses on more traditional myths about vampires, which is completly different to Twilight and House of Night. So far I am really liking these books. There's a glimmer of romance throughout the first and the second. I've heard romance becomes more of a main focus round about the 4th book.

I'm already finding this series hard to put down. If you guys don't know I love read whilst having a lovely hot bubble bath! I find it so relaxing. I also like to read before I go to bed, however if I've got spare time during the day there's nothing I love more than putting in my iPod and just getting lost in a book. I've already got ideas of how the characters look like in my head. I don't know if anyone does this but the story plays out in my head like a film! :) As of right now I should have finished the second one within the next couple of days. I am totally excited to read this series.

There are 13 currently in this series with a further two set for release this year. They retail at £6.99 each in Waterstones. With that being said I've only ever purchased one from there which was the 12th (Black Dawn) for £5. The rest I've purchased from the works. 1-12 are £1.99 each or 3 for £5 which is a total bargin!! The latest one is currently £2.99 however that will go down to £1.99 within the next month or two. I would totally recommend giving this series a try if you're a lover of vampire series'. I shall also do a full blog post on this series once I've finished it!!

Baking Day With Boo.

Hiaa Lovelies!!

I realise this is the second post of today however the review was supposed to go up last night I just had a bit of a mind block last night!! I couldn't get past the introduction! Sunday night we had Bethy (Boo) to stay for the night. Haven't had her stay in ages so it was actually really nice. After I finished work sunday afternoon I spend the rest of the day chilling out with Boo. We watched Wreck It Ralph. To be honest I still don't have a clue what it's about haha! All I know is shortly after the beginning there's a clown in it and I absolutely despise clowns!!

So Boo decided first of she wanted to make cakes but not just plain cakes!! Who doesn't like chocolate cakes every now and then. I honestly cannot rememeber the last time we made cakes probably when she was about 4-5 bare in mind shes now 6 coming up for 7!! It was so nice to actually let her do the majority of it. I'd forgotten honestly how grown up she actually is now! So not only did she want chocolate cakes, but wanted chocolate icing with sprinkles and other goodies!! Yum!! They turned out really good actually and were yummy too!!

After making cakes we decided to make gingerbread men. I'd never made these with her before and thought she'd love it. She did it all again mostly herself. She made her gingerbread men look quite interesting. Broke off some of their legs and arms!! (meanie!) She also decided she wanted to make stars as well so we did. We were going to decorate them but we didn't really have time to do that.
When all the baking was done I wanted to get some up to date pics of me and Boo. The last time we had a pic was probably about 2 years ago now!! How time flies!! Got a few really nice ones to get developed. I love taking pictures especially with family, you can always look back and rememeber the memories!!

Review: Simple Light Moisturiser.

Hiaa Loveliess!

I haven't done a review in what feels like forever so I thought I'd bring you one today. I have so many reviews on my to do list!! As I've already said in my Superdrug Haul video and post I purchased the Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser. Now I've been using this product everyday since I purchased it which was a few weeks ago now so I feel I can finally give my opinions on it rather than just a first impressions.
Okay so starting off with the basics first. You can get this product pretty much anywhere that sells Simple products. Your best bets are either Boots or Superdrug. It's £3.79 in both Boots and Superdrug however they've both got offers on the Simple range. There is another moisturiser which is in the same packaging but slightly richer. It all depends on what you like in a moisturiser. I'm pretty sure you can also find it online if you use Google, I shall link where I purchased it from though.
http://www.superdrug.com/face/simple-hydrating-light-moisturiser-125ml/invt/949073/
http://www.boots.com/en/Simple-Kind-To-Skin-Hydrating-Light-Moisturiser-125ml_861128/

I had high hopes for this product when I purchased it as I'd seen such good reviews and I've not been disappointed. I've been using this every morning since I purchased it. The main reason I decided to try a new moisturiser was because I was looking for one which isn't so heavy on the skin. As I've said before I love my Clean & Clear one however I was looking for something lighter to wear under my make up.

I absolutely love this product. I don't think I can praise it enough to be honest. It keeps my skin hydrated all day and it acts as a good base under make up as well which is a plus in my eyes!! As promised it's incredibly light weight and soaks into your skin quickly. Also a must for me as I hate waiting for products like that to sink into my skin!! It's incredibly gentle on the skin as well which I find to be important. I can have quite sensitive skin at times and products like Neutrogena and Clearsil cause my skin to have a bad rection to them.

Whenever I use this I find it leaves my skin feeling so soft which I love!! I sometimes use this product in the evenings as well as part of my night time skin care. Past couple of weeks I have been using it at night simply because my skin has been breaking like crazy. I've had to strip back my routine for the time being so this has been a great substiute. If you're looking for an affordable moisturiser thats light, nourishing and keeps your skin looking refreshed and hydrated all day long I'd recommend this to you! I can see myself repurchasing this when I've used it all up!!

Superdrug Haul.

Hia Lovelies!

Blogging at a more sensible time tonight! Recently I purchased a few things from Superdrug which if any of you don't know it's basically a drugstore or pharmacy in the UK. I will have reviews on all of these products when I've had enough time to use them. That way I will be able to give my honest opinions. However from what I've tested and going on first impressions there is nothing that I don't like.
So first of all I was intrigued by the 'Samy Fat Hair Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner'. These two products have had nothing but good reviews on the website which made me extremly eager to try them. I don't know about you but I have quite fine hair, so this shampoo sounded like a bit of a winner! I like to have a bit of body and volume to my hair. I've only used it once as of right now simply because I like to switch it up with colour protect shampoo as I have red hair. These two products I purchased for £2.75 (promotion price) each for 300ml of product. (normal price is £5.59 however Superdrug currently have an offer on all fat hair products, 2 for £6.99) You can only purchase these in Superdrug as well.

I was then browsing the website as ya do, looking at all things that I didn't need! I've been after a new hairspray for a while now. I've been using v05 hairspray and to be honest I really would not recommend them. They may work for some of you but not for me that's for sure! They end up making your hair very stiff and brushing out can be a right pain in the backside! So I decided to purchase a Tresemme hairspray and it's the superior hold one. I paid just under £5 I believe for a 500ml can. Lovely Superdrug again currently have offers on these products as they did when I purchased it last month. All hairsprays have money off at the moment. :)

I wanted to get a new topcoat. Now with that being said I realise I haven't actually used this product at all yet simply because I took my nail varnish off and haven't repainted my nails. I purchased the Ultra Shine topcoat from Sally Hansen. This was £6.99 so hopefully I have a good experience with it! I was using the Rimmel no chip? top coat if that's what it's called I'm too lazy to find it properly, that retails for £3.99. I just wanted to explore the different options and I know Sally Hansens top coats are rated quite highly.

I'm a big fan of the Simple face wipes and their make up remover so I decided to have a little browse at their products. I was ideally looking for a new moisturiser. One to use in the mornings underneath my foundation. I love my Clean & Clear moisturiser however I wanted something that wasn't so heavy for the mornings. I purchased the Simple Hydrating Light moisturiser. I paid £3.79 for it however currently it's £2.00 at Superdrug. You can get this product in a variety of places, boots, asda etc.

The last thing I ordered was the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade '01' which is a really nice red. I have more lipsticks than I know what to do with however this was a must for me as I've been trying to get it for months now without success. Whenever I go into a shop trying to find it they're sold out so I decided to get it online as they had it. I purchased this for £5.49. I am looking at purchasing some more of these as I absolutely love them. (oopsie I do not need anymore!)

As I've said full reviews on all the products purchased shall be up in the future. I have also posted a video on my channel about my purchases from Superdrug so if you are interested in watching that I shall link it below!

Boyce Avenue.

Hiaa Lovelies!!

As promised I really wanted to share one of my favourite bands with y'all. I know this is another late post but I was eager to not miss posting today! I was planning on posting this afternoon however I was a little hooked on Destined (9th House of Night book) and was so close to finishing it! After I've done this post I shall be having a bath and then moving onto Hidden (10th House of Night book). I've got work tomorrow as well so busy day for tomorow as well!

I've been following Boyce Avenue ever since they first started out on YouTube. I was scrolling through covers clicking from one video to another when one of their covers came up. It so happened to be the 2nd or 3rd video they'd put up. They started out in 2007, ever since then their following as grown and grown and now they have over 2million subscribers. Boyce Avenue are a three piece band all brothers, Alejandro Manzano, Daniel Manzano and Fabian Manzano. In early 2010 they signed with the record label Universal Republic. However this was to be short lived as they left the following year. They wanted to persue their dreams making the music they wanted to make. As of today they have their own record label '3peace records' and are an independent band. They signed Hannah Trigwell near the end of last year. It's coming up for six years now since I've been following them and to be quite honest they just get better and better.

They've released two original albums and are currently recording their 3rd which shall be released this year. As well as another tour :D (I was like a kid at christmas when they announced this) I finally got to see them last summer June 21st to be exact. Me and my best friend saw them at Hammersmith Apollo, London. Alex Goot and Tyler Hilton were the supporting acts who were also amazing! Honestly one of the best nights of my life. They're music I find isn't like current artists out there at the moment. They're lyrics mean something and there's always a story behind their songs. It's safe to say I own every single song they've written or covered. You can find their music on iTunes if you just search 'Boyce Avenue' you will be able to see every song on there. :) They have quite a few cover albums which to be honest I adore. They make the songs their own and about 99.9% if not 100% I prefer theirs to the original.

They are a band I could honestly listen to every single day and not get bored. I wanted to post the videos I took at the concert last year to YouTube obviously last year. However I've only just started posting them. I've still got a few more to put up. I have to say they're amazing in general. Live is something out of this world. It's perfection. They are honestly one of the best bands I have discovered on YouTube and I'm so glad I did come across them. It's safe to say I'm just a little fan?! :P Maybe a little more than that. I do think in the future they will be even more well known than they are currently. They're not mega known as of yet even though they've been around for nearly 6 years. However with that being said they have fans around the world. They upload a new video every Sunday. As I am obviously subcribed to them I get an email everytime they upload a video. When that happy time comes big smile on my face and going straight to check it out. (It's like christmas all over again aha!)

On My Way was the first song I got hooked on which is one of their originals. Since then Every Breath, Broken Angel, Briane and More Things To Say have become my other favourites by them. If you haven't listened to them before I recommend checking some of their music out. Whether you like listening to covers or just want to hear some great music. They have done many collaborations with artists such as: Megan & Liz, Tyler Ward, Alex Goot, DeStorm, Savannah Outen, Megan Nicole.. just to name a few :) They have their own website and merchandise store as well which I shall link below as well as their YouTube channel.

I shall be posting the rest of the live videos very soon so keep your eyes peeled for that! I shall link my channel below. Other than that I hope you enjoyed this rambled blog post :)

Organisation.

Hiaa lovelies!!

Rather a late post for me as normally I post in the afternoon or early evening. I was going to do a post about Boyce Avenue as I mentioned in my last post. However I decided as I was organising my folders I would do a post on that. I'm certainly building up a collection of videos and pictures for my YouTube channel and my blog and it was all getting a bit mumble jumbled. I don't know about you, but me personally I prefer to be able to find things easily especially if there's a lot of files in one place. It can be so frustrating especially if you think you've lost a file but turns out you've just scrolled passed it! It's a bit of a "oh crap!" moment!

I decided to make lots of folders in folders as I find this works best for me. My blog folder for pics literally has folders inside folders. I've got pics that I've used in blogs in a used folder and pics that I've yet to use in a 'blogs to do' folder. This way I can keep on top of what blogs I've got planned etc. Inside those folders are seperate catergories such as lifestyle, beauty etc. Then inside those are other catergories such as for make up it's split into: eyes, faces, lips and nails. This just helps me be able to find things easier, which in turn will help me blog more. :)

Whilst I was arranging folders I got to thinking about how much more organised I've been since the new year. It's one of the many resolutions I set myself this year that I've actually fulfilled. I mean how many of us set resolutions for the new year and then either can't be bothered or just end up forgetting about them?! I love to keep a diary so for this year I bought a decent sized one and it's been so helpful and come in handy so much. Literally everything goes in there and I find it just makes life that teeny bit easier.

My blogging and video ideas have been going in my diary too. I always carry my diary with me whenever I'm out and about. I normally find I'll need to note something down so it's handy in that sense. I've been finding whenever I've had an idea about my blog or YouTube channel writing it down has been a big help because otherwise I forget. This normally happens if I've got so many ideas going round my head at once! I love to make notes and lists I find it's so helpful during the day. The thing with lists I find, is that you feel good when you've ticked something off because you've done it. If I've got a lot of things to do in the day I find it motivates me to do them more. I especially did this when I was at college.

I would recommend keeping a diary if you don't already it's a life saver in some cases aha. If you're like me and have more than one job then it's a life saver. Especially as I'm with an agency and they can call me up at random times of the day. It's nice to have my diary on hand to see if I am actually avaliable rather than just saying yes for the sake of it!! I then find I'm in another "oh crap!" situation when I'm not free haha!!

Anyway, that's enough rambling for tonight! Considering this is past 1am, I think that's enough for one night!

Face Masks.

Hiaaaa Loveliess!!

So today I want to talk about face masks. I always used to use this quite a lot and then for no reason whatsoever I just stopped. Lately my skin has been really bad, I've been getting breakouts left right and centre. For christmas I recieved a Face Mask gift set which is lovely. It came from avon and you get 12 little sachets. There are three different face masks and the sachets have 5mls in them. Now that might not sound like a lot but thats more than enough to cover your whole face. I've had a look on Avon's website but cannot find them on there. I know they have a couple face masks in a tube which I am thinking of trying as I want to get into the habit of treating my skin once a week with one of these lovely face masks!

My favourite I have to say is the 'Dead Sea Minerals' mud mask I love it. Unfortunatly Avon do not do this one in a tube. I'm not too sure how much this set was, but I'm sure they bring things like this out every year for christmas so just keep your eyes peeled. These are all lovely to use so if you like a good face mask if you can get your hands on these I would recommend. I shall link you to Avon's website below as they do have some lovely beauty products.

As I am currently on a bit of a face mask hype as I like to call it I've also been trying out some of the face masks you can purchase from Wilko's or Asda. I'm not too sure if you can purchase these in Superdrug or Boots simply because I haven't looked. They are £1 each and are 15ml sachets. Compared to the Avon ones that's three times more product. I used a stress relief mask the other day I believe a picture of it was on yesterdays blog. As soon as you put it on to the skin you can feel it heating up. I do quite like this and it leaves your skin feeling so soft. I purchased two other face masks yesterday. I have three of these left to use up.

I'm excited to try the 'Strawberries and Cream' face mask I love that scent so fingers crossed I shall like it. Whilst I was in Wilkos yesterday I picked up another two face masks they are both the same as you can see both £1 each. What caught my eye about these is that are deep cleansing. They are peel off masks and sound like they could work wonders. They are 10ml sachets which is 5ml less than the others. I shall let you know how I get on with these. They do four different masks in tubes for £5 a tube. I haven't picked one of these up yet because none of the scents took my fancy. So as of yet I am still on the look out for a good face mask in a tube simply because I find it to be a lot easier and also you get more for your money.

I plan to do a bit of research and have a look in Boots to see what I can find. If I find one that I think is worthy of a little praise I shall do a full blog post and review on it.

Have a lovely day.
